Latest news from The Growers' ......... Winter Weather and Gardening: Plants continue to thrive in the 5th grade garden. Unfortunately with Early Release and several bad weather days on Thursdays in the past few months some classes have not had their normal time in the garden. The volunteers have been keeping up with the daily chores as there are things that must be done at specific times and that can’t wait for a sunny Thursday. Over the past few weeks over 500 onion sets have been planted as well as potatoes, carrots, radishes, lettuce, sugar snap peas, spinach and turnips. Hopefully the sunshine will return soon! Nature Club: The students in the Nature Club depend on your donations of used printer cartridges and old cell phones to pay for the bird feed they put out each morning for our feathered friends on campus. If you would prefer to donate a bag of bird food, the students and the birds would be most appreciative! Arbor Day at Oak Forest: Mark your calendar for 1 PM on February 25th. The fifth grade will be planting and dedicating a new oak tree at Oak Forest. They are looking for ways to earn a few dollars to pay for it. Help them earn the money if you can.
