| 1st Grade Rainbow Vegetable Garden We are very excited to continue this great outdoor classroom into first grade. The kids have learned what it takes to grow vegetables and to become great gardeners! Each class will have their very own raised bed to plant two vegetables, weed, and water. We also have one large raised bed for all the first grade classes to share come harvest time. The sandbox has been transformed into a beautiful Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden! We have a chrysalis in our Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden! We are so excited to have this happen right before our eyes! See the picture below of what it looks like! A few weeks ago we had some vandalism occur in our garden. Nearly all the tomatoes were picked and thrown on the ground, rocks were thrown in each of the beds, some plants were pulled up, and others were stomped on. We take great pride in what we have built for the kids and it was very disappointing when the kids were shown what happened.
